Introduction to the Music Industry- Is a required course for all the certificate programs!

Course Details

Thanks for learning more about Introduction to Music Industry. I’m Martin Lett. In this class, you’ll learn about the things that are really happening in the music industry today, not just the online gossip, or the old-skool ways of the industry from the 20th century. And we’ll talk about what to expect as the future is unfolding, too.

Musical talent is never enough – you simply must understand the business side. History is full of stories about very talented people who got eaten by industry sharks. I’m here to make sure that doesn’t happen to you, and I can back that up with my years of experience as a lawyer and promoter. But it’s not just about avoiding pitfalls – it’s also about knowing how the pieces all fit together – artist, manager, agent, producer, distributor, and so on. We’ll solve that puzzle as a team, and you’ll be ready to kickstart your business ambitions when we’re done.

Who knows? You might even get so excited, you’ll think about becoming a manager or a producer yourself. I hope you can stay open to that kind of personal growth, at least as a possibility.
